Media specialists from Montgomery County took advantage of the wealth of information available at the annual American Association of School Librarians Conference in early November in Charlotte, NC. It was a very plugged in conference. Presentations are available on our MyMCPS collaborative worksite. Sally Ladd, currently media specialist at Rock Creek Forest Elementary School in Montgomery County, MD was honored with an award for her seven years of dedication as project coordinator of the MDK-12 Digital Grant. Sally was responsible for negotiating contracts with vendors statewide in order to provide Maryland Students with access to Online Databases.
The Maryland Association of School Librarians selects an exemplary Maryland school library media program each year based on a rigorous application policy. Mary (Susie)Treat from Blake High School is the recipient for the 2009-2010 school year. She received an award at the annual conference in October in Frederick, MD.
