Retirees Association Offers Scholarships

The MCPS Retirees Association (MCPSRA) is offering both continuing education and summer scholarships for MCPS staff.

The Montgomery County Public Schools Retirees Association (MCPSRA) is offering scholarships to help defray the cost of course work in a recognized educational program. Any Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) employee is eligible to apply.

The Dr. Thomas R. Peters and the Albert Gibson memorial scholarships of $750 will also be awarded.

Dr. Peters served as a President of MCPSRA and died in October 2004.

Albert Gibson was a member of the MCPSRA Board of Directors for years and died in 2006.

Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicants’ educational goals and financial needs. The award may be used for tuition, books, or other expenses. Applications will be distributed to all MCPS facilities and offices in early March. Proof of registration and payment are required before funds can be disbursed.

A new scholarship application will be posted February 2010. Please check back for further updates.
