Welcome to the 24th season of Quizmaster Challenge, MCPS' own academic quiz show in which teams of the finest minds from MCPS high schools compete against each other in a question-and-answer battle.
Quizmaster Challenge was first produced in Seneca Valley High School's TV studio under the direction of John Horvat from 1988 to 2005. It was hosted by the original quizmaster, Kevin Keegan. In 2006, the show moved to Richard Montgomery High School, under the direction of Eric Rodney. In 2011, Quizmaster has taken on a whole new look, feel, and attitude under the direction of Michael Bailey and his crew of talented students from Rockville High School's Journalism Academy program.
For our 2012 season, we have 24 teams competing. The 12 winning teams will be seeded based on highest point totals and selected to compete in the second phase of the academic tournament the Play-off round. There are also four wildcard spots available to the top-scoring runner-up teams. Each of the following rounds; Play-off, Quarter-Final, and Final are single elimination rounds in which the winning teams of each match-up will advance until the winner is determined. |

 In his second season as Quizmaster host, Joel Beidleman is assistant principal at Lakelands Park Middle School. He has a bachelor's of science with a dual major in mathematics and computer science, a master's in computer science, and an advanced certification in administration and supervision. Joel has taught all secondary levels of mathematics, including postsecondary mathematics courses, for the past 15 years. |

Gladiator Trophies - Gladiator Trophies & Awards has serving the Washington, DC area for nearly 40 years, specializing in awards for warriors on fields of play as well as in corporate boardrooms. Thank you to Gladiator Trophies who has graciously provided Quizmaster Challenge with winners' trophies for our tournament champion and runner-up.
Red Raider Softball – Montgomery County's largest fast-pitch softball organization with recreational and travel teams as well as training programs for girls of all ages. Red Raiders softball, a non-profit 501(c)(3), graciously donated the beautiful school signs for our Quizmaster set.
