Parent Support
Parents are important!
The Montgomery County Infants and Toddlers Program believes that parents and caregivers are vital to their children’s development.
We offer an array of services to support parents and caregivers in their roles as the first teacher of the child.
An Early Intervention Specialist is often the first person-to-person contact the family has with our program. Your Early Intervention Specialist may be a social worker or nurse. Early Intervention Specialists are skilled at guiding families through the assessment and treatment process. They can share community resources with our families throughout the family’s involvement in Infants and Toddlers services.
Parent educators with the Infants and Toddlers Program work with children and families to improve parent/child interactions in order to improve relationships and family function.
Nurses can also be called upon to assist parents in understanding their child’s medical diagnosis and managing complex health needs.
We are proud of the support we provide parents in our program. Ask your service coordinator about parent support services available at any time.
Parents are encouraged to contribute information for our website -- share your resources, ideas, fun activities, parent tips. Check out our Parent to Parent page(s). If you have information to submit please give it your service coordinator or send it directly to the webmaster.
Our staff will also be contributing information, suggestions, and ideas for families in this website. You will want to try some of the activities suggested on our "Sensory Activities in the Home" page. Click on it and have fun with your child(ren).
