Bookshare has a new website! 1/14/09
Bookshare's website is now much easier to use and understand. You'll see the changes next time you log in. There are several things you should be aware of.
- You can no longer use Kurzweil to download books unless the version of Kurzweil you are using is updated. As of now (1/14/09) MCPS schools do not have the update needed to download books using Kurzweil.
- You no longer need an unpack tool to decompress the books you download.
- You will need to know how to "unzip" files in order to use books downloaded from Bookshare
- The HIAT Quick Guides for downloading and unpacking books are obselete. Bookshare member schools should follow the instructions on the Bookshare website for downloading books. New quick guides will be posted as soon as they are ready.
- All Bookshare users should log into their accounts and review the getting started screens as soon as possible and before you need a book quickly.
