Glogster Competition – win a camera

What is Glogster you ask? Think of it as a poster with a dose of web 2.0.  HIAT is sponsoring a competition.  Enter the Glogster Competition and win a 3-in-one camera to take video, photos and record podcasts!

  1. Create a glog that shows: How E-TIPS educators are helping teachers help students incorporate technology into teaching and learning.
  2. Send the link to your glog to Kathleen Hamm
  3. Attend the E-TIPS Celebration on June 2 where the winner will be announced

Check out the HIAT Quick Guide to learn how to make a glog!

Save the Date – Annual E-TIPS Celebration

We had this in the last newsletter, but it bears repeating:  Come to our annual E-TIPS event on June 2 from 3:30 to 5:30 at CTI.  We’ll have a guest speaker, refreshments, and door prizes.  It’s your chance to network with other educators who use technology with their students in MCPS.

E-TIPS Educators are showing more and more interest in web 2.0 technologies

A Podcasting workshop taught by Jo Belyea-Doerrman was well-attended last night.  Participants had great things to share about how they have used audio in their classrooms.  For example, two teachers gave reluctant students the opportunity to create audio files using the computer and found that these shy students came out of their shell and showed a new enthusiasm for learning. Interested in trying it yourself?  See the Podcasting resources on the HIAT website.  Want more? Sign up for the Graphics, Video, and Sound workshops on May 13 and 20.
