Roadmaps – a new feature on the HIAT website
Roadmaps are suggestions for how to get a technology tool working for you in your school or in your classroom. Rather than step-by-step technical directions, they provide a way to take what you've learned about a particular technology tool and put it into action.
People who Make it Work – Jo Belyea-Doerrman
Amazing things happen when teachers use the skills and tools they have to thoughtfully address the needs of students. Read about how Jo Belyea-Doerrman helped her ESOL students improve their reading and writing skills using SOLO software and a well-crafted instructional plan. Attend a Podcasting workshop taught by Jo on April 22.
Save the Date – Annual E-TIPS Celebration
Each year, we celebrate all staff who use technology to support students at the annual E-TIPS Celebration. There are snacks, door prizes, a student guest-speaker, and awards for those who have reached 75 E-TIPS hours this year. Whether you are new to E-TIPS or have been around for a long time, join us for our annual celebration on June 2 from 3:30 to 5:30 at CTI.
Webinars – a New Training Option from HIAT
We’ve started using webinars as another way for you to get the information you need. A webinar is an online meeting or training that you can attend right at your computer at home or at school. No travel time necessary! Webinars are recorded, so you can return to the information later, or even watch the webinar if you couldn’t attend. Webinars still earn E-TIPS hours and you can find them on the PDO. Just search for “tips” as you have always done.
New Way to Request HIAT Help
If you need help with the process of assistive technology consideration, you no longer need to fill out the Student Profile before your request can be submitted. Our request survey gathers information regarding your team’s knowledge about AT before asking for the Student Profile. This will help HIAT customize the support provided to your team’s needs. Once you submit the survey, you’ll be contacted by HIAT within a week.
