Purpose
HIAT provides support to MCPS staff on accessible technology. HIAT is funded through the Department of Special Education under the Physical Disabilities Program, HIAT's purpose is to build the internal capacity of schools to use technology to improve the performance of struggling students. HIAT focuses on:
- Providing training on accessible technology
- Developing and sharing resources for implementing the principles of universal design for learning (UDL)
- Consulting with MCPS staff on consideration of assistive technology and the SETT framework
