Unable to Sync?

  1. You will need to have Outlook open and you must be logged in for the mClass™ Sync process to work.
  2. Verify that you can log into the mCLASS™ webpage. Then verify that the user id and password, that allows you to log into the mCLASS™ webpage, is entered into the Palm.
  3. On your Palm's main screen, tap the WG Sync icon to open the WG Sync application.
  4. In the User Name field, enter your mCLASS™ username.
  5. In the Password field, enter your mCLASS™ password. Note: The username and password you enter on the PDA must be the same as those you use to access the mCLASS™ web site.
  6. Double click on the HotSync® icon located in the Programs folder (icon with red and blue arrows).
  7. Tap the “Star” soft button on your Palm. (HotSync® button)
  8. You should see the sync process happen.

If you are still unable to sync report the problem to the Help Desk.

How many students can I have on my palm at one time?

We recommend that users have no more than 40 students on the mClass palm at one time.

I am able to sync but some or all of my uploaded scores are missing from the mCLASS™ webpage

Verify that the date on your Palm is correct

  1. Tap the Prefs on the main page.
  2. Within Preferences, tap "Date & Time". If the date and/or time are wrong, edit them on this page. Tap the area to the right of each category to edit the corresponding information.

If your Palm won't respond, perform a soft reset.

A soft reset is similar to restarting a desktop computer. Soft resets usually do not affect the data on your device, unless your battery is low. If you see battery warnings, charge your batteries immediately even if there is an error message onscreen. Also, it's a good practice to perform a HotSync® operation before any reset (assuming that synchronization is not the problem you are trying to fix).

1. Use an unfolded paper clip.
2. Gently press the RESET button inside the hole on the back panel of your device.

3. All data on your device should be retained.
4. After a soft reset, a logo screen appears, followed shortly by a Preferences screen asking you to set time and date.

When you HotSync® your Palm, the "HotSync® operation complete" message does not apply to the sync that occurs between the Palm and the mCLASS™ web site.  "HotSync® operation complete" only refers to the HotSync® operation which occurs between the Palm and the HotSync® Manager on the desktop computer. To confirm that the handheld computer synced to the mCLASS™ web site, log in to the mCLASS™ web site and check the Sync Status displayed on the Home page.
