2. Create a plan which includes the roles of partners and begin early to seek letters of commitment and letters of support.
3. Establish a timetable and organize the necessary personnel as soon as funding availability is announced.
4. Contact the funding source for technical assistance and advice; attend the technical assistance sessions.
5. Follow the instructions and format.
6. Be reasonable, realistic, clear and concise.
7. Provide information on all the review criteria.
8. Explain omissions, rather than hope that no one will notice.
9. Make the funding request reasonable and match the budget to the scope of work.
10. Keep the application simple, business-like and professional.
