Project manager recruits members of the writing team; explains the concept and assigns writing tasks to team members.

Outside partners are identified, contacted, and actively involved in developing the proposal, its budget, and any support letters or memos of agreement required by the funder.

Team members write sections, propose budget, decide upon broad parameters of project evaluation.

Grants specialist helps to formalize agreements with partner organization and obtain signatures on any required letters of support.

Project Manager assembles all proposal sections, sends a complete draft to the grants specialist.

Writing team members make final edits to the proposal, incorporating guidance from grants specialist and partner organization representatives.

Grants specialist obtains approvals from staff in the Department of Management, Budget, and Planning, and the Offices of Shared Accountability and Organizational Development.

Grants specialist forwards final proposal to the Project manager for review, having integrated final budget and final evaluation into it; Associate Superintendent approves.  

 Application is submitted; copies distributed to partners and all MCPS stakeholders.
