What is the Board of Investment Trustees?
The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Employees' Retirement and Pension System Board of Investment Trustees is responsible for the investment the assets of the MCPS retirement and pension plans. Major responsibilities of the trustees include maintenance of the investment policy statement and asset allocation guidelines, performance monitoring, investment manager search and selection, work plan and budget development, and cost control.
Who is on the Board?
The Board of Investment Trustees consists of nine members. Four trustees serve by virtue of their position within MCPS. These ex officio members are the chief operating officer; the chief financial officer; the director of management, budget, and planning; and the controller. Five trustees are nominated by the superintendent from representatives of MCPS employee groups, retiree groups, and the public, and are appointed for three-year terms by the Board of Education.
When does the Board meet?
Scheduled meetings of the trustees occur quarterly, approximately six weeks following each calendar quarter-end with additional special meetings, as required.
The Board of Investment Trustees has meetings scheduled from 8:15 a.m. until noon (unless otherwise noted) in Room 127 of the Carver Educational Services Center (CESC), 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, MD 20850, on the following dates:
