The Microsoft Outlook 2003 Basics course
is made available to all MCPS employees as a resource
in learning how to use Outlook. The course was built
using OnDemand, a tool for creating online simulations.
The course modules have four modes; See it, Try
it, Know it, and Do it.
In the See it mode you will watch as an action
is performed such as sending an email or adding and
attachment. You can play the See it mode as
many times as you like or pause the simulation at any
point. If you find See it mode is too slow for your
learning style you can choose to skip it an go straight
to Try it mode.
The Try it mode will walk you through the
process step by step. You can also repeat the Try
it mode as many times as you like until you feel
comfortable performing the task.
In Know it mode you will
be prompted to perform the task with little or no direction.
In this mode you can test your understanding of the
topic. Know it mode is not
available for the Outlook course but will be used in
upcoming courses.
The Do it mode is designed
to be a support as you try your new skills with Outlook.
The Do it window will remain in the bottom
right hand corner of the screen. If you need prompting
to complete a task you can refer to the Do it
window to review each step of the process.
