MCPS - Cancer Support Group

This group is open to any MCPS employee or adult family member who has been diagnosed, or cares about someone who has been diagnosed, with cancer. The group meets monthly on the second Monday of the month. It is facilitated by a counselor from the MCPS Employee Assistance Program. During the meetings, group members share and receive information regarding cancer diagnosis, treatment and research, tips for coping, and community activities. Members share their own concerns and offer support to others both during and in between group sessions.
The members of the Cancer Support Group have offered to be available to others in MCPS who might need some extra support during their own journey with cancer. The EAP maintains a list of members and their contact information. If you would like to be in touch with one of them, contact Debra Tipton through Outlook or at 240-314-1040.
