This group is open to any MCPS employee or adult family member who has been diagnosed, or cares about someone who has been diagnosed, with cancer. The group meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month. It is co-lead by a counselor from the MCPS Employee Assistance Program and a nurse from Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. During the meetings, group members share and receive information regarding cancer diagnosis, treatment and research, tips for coping, and community activities. Members share their own concerns and offer support to others both during and in between group sessions.

The members of the Cancer Support Group have offered to be available to others in MCPS who might need some extra support during their own journey with cancer.
