Using Assessment Data for Planning Instruction

Pre-assessments are provided for each unit in the Instructional Guide.   The Instructional Guides provide valuable information for teachers as they plan for mathematics instruction.   A component of the NCTM Assessment Standards states, “….purpose of assessment is to help make instructional decisions”.   Teachers can use pre-assessment data in planning small group instruction, these flexible groups can be reorganized with each unit’s pre-assessment.   This module will offer some suggestions for planning using the results of pre-assessment.
