Elementary Principals' Curriculum Update October 3, 2008: Equitable Practices in Mathematics Classrooms

At the March 2008 Advanced Math in Grade 5 M-STAT meeting, three teachers spoke about classroom practices that support student success. The first question they addressed was how they establish a community of learners in their classrooms where expectations are clear and opportunities exist for all voices to be heard and honored. This lays the foundation for future learning for each and every student in their diverse classes. Let’s look at what they said.
