Reflective Tasks and Analyses

  • Lesson Analysis 1: VandeWalle states that for students to gain deep understanding of mathematical concepts, they must make real life connections as part of their instructional experience. How do the teachers prompt the students to make real life connections between their personal experiences and the instructional focus?

  • Lesson Analysis 2: Identify the multiple and varied strategies the teachers model, with student input, to demonstrate the concept of elapse time.

  • Lesson Analysis 3: How do the teachers provision so that barriers to student learning are removed and all students area able to access the curriculum?

  • Reflective Task 1:  Effective feedback stimulates thinking. Think about how the teachers’ feedback to individual students encourages all students to be involved in the experience of learning.
