• Designate a coordinator and establish an organizing committee
• Determine if science projects will be judged or not
• Decide whether students will be present to discuss projects with judges
• Decide how many judges look at each project
• Select a time of day for the judging (during school, after school, evening)
• Determine who will view projects besides the judges (students in other grades and/or parents)
• Prepare judging criteria and evaluation for judges
• Arrange for participation certificates and/or awards
• Plan for refreshments (light if during school; dinner if in evening and judges coming from work)
• Send thank you notes to judges
