Connection Resource Bank History

Our program, initially created in 1985, utilizes a computerized database and dedicated staff to link community and business resources to help spark educational experiences.

It began as a joint project between Montgomery Education Connection (MEC) and Montgomery County Public Schools. MEC has since then passed on the torch to Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (MCBRE) to help continue with this collaborative effort.

Educators may request speakers, judges, mentors, and consultants for enhancement of curricular topics and learning. The CRB also assists teachers in planning tips for small to large events, i.e., Career and Science Fairs and Expos, as well as providing presenters for teacher in-service training and conferences.

We cherish our volunteers who generously share their expertise and enthusiasm.

At the Black Caucus of September 26, 2003 the ET3 Tec Champion award was presented to the MCPS, The MCPS Business Roundtable, and the Connection Resource Bank by Congressman Major Owens and the chair of CBC Education Braintrust.
