School Support and Improvement → Associate Superintendent of Secondary Schools
Dr. LaVerne Gray Kimball is a veteran educator, and holds a doctorate in educational administration, a master’s degree in human resources development, and a Bachelor of Science degree in special education. As the associate superintendent of elementary schools, Dr. Kimball works closely with eight Directors of School Support and Improvement, to serve the 133 elementary schools in Montgomery County Public Schools. Working within the Office of School Support and Improvement, she and her colleagues focus on skillful leadership; learning, accountability and results; and operational excellence. A passionate educator, Dr. Kimball is committed to working to eliminate the intractable opportunity gap, and ensuring that ALL students are college and career ready so they will have unlimited opportunities. Dr. Kimball enjoys gardening, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends. She resides in Montgomery County, Maryland and is the proud mother of two daughters and one grandson.
