MCPS Careers: Location

Maryland and the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area have a great deal to offer when you want to relax, have fun or learn something new. The region is considered the most educated (Triangle Business Journal, 2009) and highest income (Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, 2007) combined metropolitan and suburban area in the country. There is something for every interest. Broadway shows often start here before moving up to the Big Apple. Multiple museums of international stature, national sports teams, and outdoor activities such as sailing/boating, skiing, hiking, abound. You will have your pick of the best cuisine in some of the finest restaurants in the country. Of course, if you need some place to burn off those calories, there are paths and parks for biking, walking and running. A walk along the C & O Canal is not only rejuvenating and revitalizing, but it comes with its own history lesson as you learn about the early trading routes on the East Coast.
If you need to get away from the cities and the suburbs, in just three hours you can be relaxing on the beaches in Maryland or Delaware or in the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia.
