FY 2018 Budget Questions and Answers

During the budget process, questions asked by members of the Board of Education are compiled. Appropriate staff from Montgomery County Public Schools answer the questions as soon as all information has been gathered to respond in full. The questions and answers are also made available to the public on this website.

Questions 1-10


1. Provide a list of elementary schools that do not have a full time assistant principal, staff development teacher, counselor, reading specialist, or media specialist positions. What is the cost of adding these positions to the budget?

13. What is the savings for the social worker positions changing from 12-month to 10-month plus 20 days? What work do social workers currently do in the summer (how is it different than during the school year) and how will this work be covered after the position is changed to the new schedule? Will staff schedules be staggered to ensure all the time is covered and students have support?
