What is the current cost of toilet paper in our schools and what is the cost to enhance quality?
Montgomery County Public Schools currently purchases approximately 7,000 cases of toilet paper (standard commercial grade one-ply) annually for a total cost of $205,100. Each case consists of 96 rolls at a cost of $29.30 per case. The potential cost to enhance the quality to standard commercial grade two-ply toilet paper would be an additional $31,150, or $4.45 per case. The total cost for toilet paper would increase to $236,250 annually. Alternative brands currently are being evaluated to compare usage and cost including two-ply products.
