What do the resources for extra-curricular minority achievement programs support? Please provide a list of programs by school.

Question#: 9

ANSWER:

Middle Schools

The Achievement-focused Extracurricular Programming (AFEP) programs in middle schools provide sponsors with stipends funds and transportation services to all schools. The funding supports after school programming that improves outcomes and opportunities for all students with a special focus on traditionally underserved populations. Funds must be used to support extracurricular programs that focus specifically on academic success and/or leadership in schools.  As part of the AFEP allocation, each middle school is expected to include a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)-related program and identify a STEM activity sponsor at the school level.  Each middle school is allocated program funding based on EVER FARMS factors. Schools develop plans within a set of criteria. The list of middle schools and the programs offered in each school follow in the table below:

High Schools

The Achievement-focused Extracurricular Programming (AFEP) programs in high schools provide sponsors with stipends funds, opportunities, and transportation services to all schools and program supplies as needed. The funding is provided to reduce achievement gaps and ensure that academic success is not predictable by race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, language, or disability. Funds must be used to support extracurricular programs that focus specifically on academic success and/or leadership in schools. Each high school is allocated program funding based on student enrollment factors so that schools with more underserved students receive more funds. Schools develop plans within a set of criteria.
