MCPS Share of County Budget, FY1999 - FY2007
This chart shows the MCPS Operating Budget as a percentage share of the total county operating budget. The MCPS share has remained very similar over many years, just under half of the total county budget. After FY 1999, the MCPS share increased for several years, but has decreased slightly since FY 2005. In short, since FY 2005 the annual increase in the MCPS budget has been less than the increase of the budget as a whole. The chart does not break down debt service separately by county agency, but such a breakdown does not substantially change the MCPS share.
