Whom We Help
The Bilingual Assessment Team (BAT) provides services to:
Pre-Kindergartners who come from
non-English language backgrounds.
Head Start and Pre-Kindergarten ESOL students enrolled
in MCPS general education classes.
Pre-Kindergarten students enrolled in special education who
come from non-English language backgrounds.
School-aged students who
qualify for ESOL services or have been dismissed from
ESOL within one year of date of referral to BAT.
English Language Learners with
Individualized Educational Programs (IEP's) who have been
exited from ESOL.
Private and religious school students are eligible for BAT services if they qualify under any of the above categories. Private religious school students are referred through Placement and Assessment Services Unit in the Office of Special Education and Student Services |
