Organization
The Bilingual Assessment Team (BAT) is a central services
team comprised of personnel from the Office of Special
Education and Student Services.
The Bilingual Assessment Team is housed at the Rocking
Horse Road Center, giving BAT members the opportunity
to interact and consult with bilingual instructional
staff, parent services personnel, and bilingual counselors
to meet the individual needs of students.
The Bilingual Assessment Team is comprised of educational
diagnosticians and school psychologists. Bilingual Assessment
Team speech-language pathologists provide assessments
to Spanish- and French-speaking students from kindergarten
through 12th grade. Bilingual Assessment Team speech-language
pthologists in the Speech and Language Programs office
provide assessments to non-English-language-background
students referred by Child Find. All other ESOL students
receive bilingual speech-language assessments from their
local speech-language pathologist using an interpreter
with any necessary assistance from the support speech-language
pathologist assigned to that school.
