All partners and volunteers play essential roles in the development of our students.

Parent Academy Workshops

Parent Academy provides free workshops to help parents and guardians learn about school system programs, community resources that link to student learning and well-being, tips to enhance at-home learning, and partnering with the school.

  • Workshops are conducted in various locations throughout the county.
  • Interpretation and child care services is provided.
  • Some workshops are conducted in various languages.
  • Workshop presenters volunteer their time, expertise, and effort; and include MCPS staff and partners from government agencies and community organizations.

Parent Feedback

Seventy percent of participants completed a workshop evaluation form. The feedback and suggestions are used to determine workshop topics and other program improvement.

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is committed to enhancing the relationship between the school system and our community by providing opportunities for parents/guardians and community members to serve as volunteers.

  • MCPS supports volunteer efforts at both the local school and district level.
  • Volunteers have served in a variety of roles including but not limited to providing in-classroom help, chaperoning field trips, providing additional support in school offices, and helping with extracurricular activities.
