- Leaves on the trees indicate that it is either later spring, summer, or early fall.
- from the lone tree in the left side of the picture
- The lower section of a tree in a forest will be bare because of the lack of light. A tree such as this, standing by itself, indicates that many trees around it were recently cleared. This area might have been cleared by the troops to prepare for the coming battle.
- from the light strips on the ground
- These are probably roads. They may have been recently cleared by the troops, or they might have been used by previous occupants of the land.
