| Begin Photo Questions |
Use strategies to extend student thinking such as calling on students randomly, utilizing "wait-time", asking follow-up questions, withholding judgment, and playing devil's advocate to entice students to defend their views. Given enough computers, you may want to allow students to answer the questions in pairs, then form a jigsaw of information from what all groups have learned. The Photos might also be used to engage students in creative writing in which they write from the perspective of the people in the photographs. The possibilities are as endless as the beautiful people of the Subcontinent.
The background notes at the bottom of each page will provide answers to most of the questions, however since some are open-ended questions they cannot be answered here.
Please note: You can get a much larger version of each picture by clicking on the picture itself. To return to the page you came from after opening a "big" picture, use the "back" button on your browser. Also, there is a index of many of my other photos from India (without questions or comments).
