Spray Plantation, Near the St. Mary's River, Maryland, l661
Selling Tobacco

The ship captain sells the tobacco in England. With the profit, he purchases goods that planters have ordered. The Sprays wait about eight months for the ship to return to Maryland. While Master Spray provides English people with tobacco, they in turn provide him with manufactured goods and foodstuffs that aren't produced in Maryland.
