  Shipping Maryland Tobacco to England

The packed hogsheads are rolled to the creek's edge and then onto a small boat. The small boat ferries the tobacco, and that of Master Spray's neighbors, to a larger ship anchored in the St. Mary's River. When the ship is full it sails to England, usually in early December.
