DESCRIPTION: NOTE: For the school year l999-2000, the conservatory will be closed. Tours of Bartholdi Park (across the street) by the designer of the Statute of Liberty are offered. Teachers should note that there are no bathrooms at the park.
The Tea Ceremony is no longer available. Periodically tours on special themes are offered. Check on availability of calendar of events. A variety of fauna are displayed: palms, subtropical ferns, cicadas, and desert plants. Courtyard gardens. Guided tours must be arranged 1 week in advance. Scale models of dinosaurs on loan from Smithsonian. Economic house has plants useful for food and products. Flower shows annually. Bartholdi Park (across street) by designer of Statue of Liberty.
