DESCRIPTION AND RESOURCES
DESCRIPTION: Students see process for preparing river distribution; clarification, filtration, disinfecting, fluoride, corrosion inhibitor. There are 5 acres with a main building with pumps, and a chemical building. The plant is close to the C. & O. Canal (2 miles from Swains Lock). Age is considered when planning tours. Not much notice is needed to schedule ahead, but school groups from within the Rockville city limits will be given preference.
