DESCRIPTION AND RESOURCES

DESCRIPTION: Combine with tour of Montgomery County Recycling Centerwhich is on the same property. Students will observe waste that goeseither to the incinerator or county landfill. School bus will travelto sites to see drop off facilities for yard waste, "white goods"(refrigerators, stoves), building materials, tires, etc. Staff person on board at recycling center to conduct tours. Students will go into observation area to see receiving operations. This is an industrial site; wear shoes appropriate for foot protection and clothing appropriate for close observation of the sorts of things people throw away.
