DESCRIPTION: Greenbelt is one of 3 "Green towns" built by the United States government in an effort to provide jobs during the Depression. It is one of America's earliest planned towns. The museum is located in one of the original homes (1937). A playground, innerwalkway, pedestrian underpass, and a town center are included in the walking tour. The Community Center is an example of Art Deco architecture. There is a video for $10 if you pick it up, $15 if they mail it. The video is also available from the MCPS Film Library. Mailing address is FOGM, P.O. Box 1025, Greenbelt, MD 20768-1025
