DESCRIPTION:Ride on a canal boat that is 90 ft. long, 12 ft. wide. On the trip, the canal boat is raised 8 feet in a lift lock and then continues on the trip. Canal boat has roof and is drawn by mules at 2 - 2 1/2 mph. Costumed staff presents living history program c. 1870. The trip originates off Jefferson St. in Georgetown. "Canal Life" is a half hour program designed for school groups riding the canal boat in Georgetown. Students examine aspects of canal life by participating in hands-on activities. Located near the Old Stone House on M St., NW. Can also ride canal barge near Great Falls, Maryland.There is space for two buses to park.
