After Chrismas Idea

This book recaps pre-Christmas activities such as making cards, presents, baking cookies, and buying and decorating the Christmas tree. Because the children are sad about taking down the tree, their mother suggests an after-Christmas party. They invite their friends, put the tree outside, and decorate it with snacks for the birds and squirrels.

After reading this book, we talk a little about what we did for Christmas, and then spread peanut butter on pine cones and roll them in bird seed. We hang them on a discarded Christmas tree utside our room, and watch the birds and squirrels enjoy them. We have also used a small artificial tree, and even the evergreen bushes that grow outside our room. --submitted by Jan Fitch
