Snack Time
- COLORED WATER - make ice cubes of various colors using
either food coloring or koolaid. Serve ice water for snack time
and allow the children to choose an ice cube. If you are learning
about color mixing, make the ice cubes in the primary colors
and have the children each choose two ice cubes. --Submitted

- COLOR SNACKS - We used Boardmaker by Don Johnston
to create these communication boards for each color. Each board
has four foods of one color. At the top are the symbols, "I
tasted ___". At the bottom are the symbols for "I like
____". We had the children color the foods the appropriate
color, and then helped them to tell us which foods they liked.
We circled the ones that they liked and crossed out the ones
they didn't. We focused on the following learning objectives
based on the needs of each student.
- Identifying a color
- Tasting new foods
- Answering yes/no (ex. "Do you like carrots?")
- Using appropriate language or other communication to refuse
items
- Naming different foods
