HONORS CREDIT EVALUATION: HONORS LEVEL MUSIC PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

The evaluation of the successful completion of the objectives will be determined by the local music teacher and a panel of three expert adjudicators in the field.

While the objectives which follow pertain to the jury examination and portfolio assessment, the local music teacher will be responsible for developing differentiated objectives for honors level students in those nonperformance, and performance, areas which are taught as part of the regular musical performance class.

(See Secondary Instrumental Music Teacher's Handbook, Chapter I and MCPS Program of Studies for a listing of regular course objectives.)

Upon the recommendation of the Jury committee and completion of the course objectives, the student will be eligible to receive honors credit. The final decision to grant honors credit to students rests with the local classroom music teacher.
