Unit 5

Unit Overview

In his unit, students extend their knowledge of exponential and logarithmic functions. Honors Precalculus students analyze logistic functions. The properties of logarithms are applied to solutions of exponential and logarithmic equations. The change of base rule is used to evaluate logarithmic expressions. Real-world data is modeled by exponential and logarithmic functions. Linearization through logarithmic re-expression is used to determine the best model. Honors Precalculus students explore transformations of the graph of the logarithmic functions.
