Curriculum

The Montgomery County Public Schools automotive programs are National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) certified. The curriculum follows the NATEF curriculum standards for the content of instruction which includes tasks, tools, equipment, hours and instructor qualifications. NATEF program standards are developed based on ASE task areas and are designed to provide students with entry level skills needed to succeed in the automotive industry.

 

The Automotive Technology curriculum is focused on four ASE areas – Brakes; Steering / Suspension; Electrical; Engine Performance.

 

The Automotive Body curriculum is focused on two ASE areas - Non-Structural Collision Repair; Paint and Refinishing.
