Building Careers

"The ATF program stresses the fact that hard work and a real understanding of customer service can take you a very long way — and in many rewarding directions — toward a well-paying occupation within the automotive industry."
Harold Redden, Vice President, Fitzgerald Automotive Family

Students inspect and repair car engine As a connection between the businesses and public schools of Montgomery County, the Automotive Trades Foundation (ATF) program is an outstanding resource for students seeking to build the foundation for a long-term career in the automotive industry. Early on, students can specialize by choosing between automotive technology and automotive body repair programs.

Beyond the classroom, the ATF program has helped extend the capabilities of these programs with state-of-the-art equipment; face-to-face contact with working professionals through visits to automobile dealerships; and first-hand experience through the ATF program, where students sell the vehicles they have reconditioned.

Upon completion of this unique program, students are prepared to pursue one-year certificate and manufacturers programs and two- or four-year technical degrees in automotive technology at the college level.

Based on ATF's extensive interaction with Montgomery County automotive businesses, ATF students are well-versed to begin successful careers with long-term promise. In addition, students are prepared to begin working immediately at several skilled entry-level positions.
