Honors Ensembles

6th Grade Honors Bands and Orchestras 

The 6th Grade Honors Bands and Orchestras program is made up of seven regional ensembles.  Middle school instrumental music teachers nominate students based on music performance criteria.  Students must be enrolled in a middle school instrumental music class to be eligible.  Rehearsals are every Tuesday evening in January and the first week of February.  The concerts are on the second Tuesday of February each year.  Click on the regions below to learn what schools are in each region.  Please contact your child’s instrumental music teacher for more details.

Junior Honors Bands and Orchestras 

The Junior Honors Bands and Orchestra are made up of auditioned students in grades 7, 8, and 9.  Students must be enrolled in an instrumental music class to be eligible.  Students may audition for the Junior Honors Jazz Ensemble in early October with the culminating concert the second Saturday in December.  Students may audition for either the Junior Honors Band or the Junior Honors Orchestra in early November with the culminating concert the first Saturday in February.  Please contact your child’s instrumental music teacher for more details.      

Senior Honors Bands and Orchestras  

The Senior Honors Bands and Orchestra are made up of auditioned students in grades 10, 11, and 12.  Students must be enrolled in an instrumental music class to be eligible.  Students may audition for the Senior Honors Jazz Ensemble in early October with the culminating concert the second Saturday in December.  Students may audition for either the Senior Honors Band or the Senior Honors Orchestra in early November with the culminating concert the first Saturday in February.  Please contact your child’s instrumental music teacher for more details.
