The study of music assists in the acquisition of 21st Century Skills. The cooperative learning setting of music ensembles allows students to develop both indivdually and as members of a larger community. The creativity inherent in the creation or interpretion of a musical selection fosters creative thinking and problem-solving strategies that permeate other facets of life. We encourage and celebrate the personal expression within every child.
"Music is one way for young people to connect with themselves, but it is also a bridge for connecting with others. Through music, we can introduce children to the richness and diversity of the human family and to the myriad rhythms of life." Daniel A. Carp, Eastman Kodak Company Chairman and CEO
