Instructions for Sumitting Form 311-1: Request for Written Translations

While different schools and offices are at different stages of modernization of their computer images, MCPS is using two different versions of online forms. The version found on the website through the search engine is compatible with older images. The forms that are compatible with the newer images are available on-line through the PDF version of the Forms Register. We provide the appropriate link to each version of the Request for Written Translations on this page.

If you have problems, please contact the Language Assistance Services Unit at
301-230-5474. We will do what we can to talk you through the process.

  • If your computer is imaged with a full version of Adobe Acrobat (Standard or Professiona), follow this link to MCPS Form 311-1: Request for Written Translations.
  • If your computer is imaged with Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0, follow this link to MCPS Form 311-1: Request for Written Translations.
  • Fill out the form on line.
  • If you are submitting a publication that is designed and printed by MCPS Editorial, Graphics, and Publishing Services (EGPS), you will need to click the appropriate button at the bottom of the form. This action will generate an e-mail from your account.
  • If you are submitting a job directly to the Translation Unit which your own unit will prepare for distribution, click the appropriate button at the bottom of the form. This action will generate an e-mail from your account.
  • If you are using the Translation Request System (TRS) to submit a request, click the "SAVE" button at the bottom of the form and save it with a unique name, preferrably one easily related to the name of the document for which the form is being submitted. You will then upload the form to the TRS with your documents.
  • You may wish to use the "SAVE" button to save a copy of the form for your own records.
  • If you are submitting your job to EGPS or the Translation Unit, an e-mail to the appropriate unit will be generated from your e-mail account. You will need to attach the documents you are submitting to the e-mail before sending it. You can also add any pertinent information to the e-mail message before sending it.
