DESCRIPTION AND RESOURCES

DESCRIPTION: Visit a 10 acre certified, organic working farm. Tour includes a 20 minute walk with guide to see animals, vegetables growing, cider press (only in fall), etc. A brief hayride in the fall. Children get a pumpkin, apple, or other vegetable to take home. Other times of the year children receive a seasonal souvenir. The Newcomb family grows 40 acres of crops such as tomatoes, sweet corn, lettuce, squash, raspberries, basil, pumpkins, cut flowers, and beans. No public bathrooms available. Portable toilet at vegetable stand (July - Oct.). Prefer school buses rather than private cars due to limited parking area. Although they are glad to continue to receive younger children, they would be eager to have older students visit the farm also.
