DESCRIPTION AND RESOURCES

DESCRIPTION: Although the mill is no longer operational, students can still see the stone mill built by Isaac Pierce in 1820. They can get a good idea of what a typical 19th century water-powered mill which produced flour and corn meal was like. This is the last of eight mills what once drew power from waters along Rock Creek. Students can see an audiovisual presentation, and mill equipment and millstones for grinding. New programs are being planned, ask about them at the time of registration. Make reservations at least two weeks in advance.
