DESCRIPTION AND RESOURCES

DESCRIPTION: Programs vary: Elections, Inventiveness, Hall of Presidents, Native Americans, African Americans, Westward Movement, Multicultural, Americans who have shaped the national experience, Introduction to biography and portraiture. You can personalize the tour when scheduling. Gallery is close to Ford's Theater. There are a variety of curriculum-related programs, and the staff is eager to work with teachers to plan specific tours to fit specific needs. For standard programs, make reservations about 3 weeks ahead; for customized tours, please allow more lead time.

PLEASE NOTE: in January 2000 the gallery will close for renovation for a few years. The staff will be glad to come to classrooms and present modified programs. Staff will be delighted to work with teachers to develop integrated programs including several visits by students to the gallery (until 2000) and several visits by the staff to schools.
